Upgrading Your Reflektive Outlook PC Plugin (June 2019)

Stability and usability of any software is the most important thing to consider before anything else. We are excited to announce
major improvements
to the Reflektive Outlook PC desktop plugin. Available today, the latest build is the single largest series of improvements on the Outlook PC plugin
in the past year.
Key highlights include:
  1. Improved overall user experience and minimization of focusing, hotkey, and flickering issues
  2. Improved central deployment process, in which every subsequent build version released after v115 will now update instead of requiring a separate re-installation
  3. Improved start-up load time and minimization of add-in disablement
  4. Removal of email pop-outs for the plugin, improving the overall user experience and minimizing any resulting latency
  5. Improved platform detection for email toggle and future customizations

How Do I Upgrade?

Administrators: Please reach out to your IT teams for assistance. Your team will be required to centrally deploy this software. There are three scenarios to cover:
  • Scenario 1 - Legacy - Uninstall/Fresh Install Track

  • Scenario 2 - Pre-115 - Uninstall/Fresh Install Track

  • Scenario 3 - Post-115  - Upgrade Track

To check your version (also, the same path for uninstalling the app), go to your windows settings, and find "Apps & Features."

Then, find the Reflektive plugin. The version should be next to it.

For Scenario 1 and 2: We strongly encourage you to install the new version today, so your employees can have a better experience giving each other real-time feedback directly from Outlook PC.

You must first uninstall Outlook. If your IT manager cannot do it in batch, you can do it individually. Simply follow the steps shown above until you find the Reflektive for Outlook app again.

Once there, click on "uninstall."

After completing the uninstall, we recommend you install the new version through central deployment. Here’s how to begin:

  1. Uninstall all Reflektive Outlook PC add-in as seen above.
  2. Download v205 user or v205 machine depending on what you are.
    1. User: https://s3.amazonaws.com/reflektive-outlook/MSI/user/ReflektiveOutlookAddin_2.0.11_user.zip
    2. Machine: https://s3.amazonaws.com/reflektive-outlook/MSI/machine/ReflektiveOutlookAddin_2.0.11_machine.zip
  3. Unzip the file.
    1. User: Install the .msi
    2. Machine: Install the .exe then the .msi
  4. Users will see the new build upon restarting their computer.
  5. Enjoy!
If you do not centrally deploy, have your employees go straight to reflektive.com/download to download and install the user-level Reflektive Outlook PC plugin.


For Scenario 3 - We strongly encourage you to upgrade today, so your employees can have a better experience giving each other real-time feedback directly from Outlook PC.

We recommend you centrally deploy this latest build. Here’s how:
      1. Verify you have version v115 or later and whether it is user or machine
      2. Download v205 user or machine depending on what you are
