We'll be going over new features, updates, and improvements to Reflektive below. These features and fixes are live as of 4/4/19.
New Review Builder Settings
Who does this affect?
Review Administrators
Why the update?
To give review administrators more agency in customizing their review cycles, Reflektive is surfacing more settings that your review administrators can take advantage of, further eliminating the need for a Reflektive agent to make configuration changes from the back-end.
Starting from the "Admin" tab, then going to "Reviews" section, and upon creating a new review cycle, you'll see this screen:
Further down, you'll find the three new settings:
- Minimum Feedback Required - A minimum threshold of completed reviews for that employee must be met by other people in order for feedback to be visible in a review report for that person. The default is set to 3.
- Report Tabs - Review admins can determine if employees can see question breakdown, overall summary, and competencies tabs in their final review reports.
- Email Sender - Instead of the default sender, Reflektive Review, you can designate an individual's email address (such as your local HR admin) for any emails pertaining to this review cycle to come from.
Limiting Reviewers
Who does this affect?
Review Admins
Why the update?
When administering Review Cycles, review admins lacked the ability to add or remove individual reviewers from a filtered list (the ability to do so with reviewees already exists.) The lack of flexibility for one-off scenarios became a manual and labor intense exercise in notifying affected parties to not participate in certain review cycles, or to have empty reviews submitted by said participants, which could similarly skew review results/reporting. Additionally, customers with automated HRIS data syncs will no longer have to pause their syncs during review cycles as it would generally overwrite any custom reviewer filtering.
- Workflow of including/excluding reviewers is exactly the same behavior of reviewees
- Include/exclude based on the following parameters:
- Hire Date
- Specific Employee
- Department, Location
- An employee can be a recipient or a provider or both
- Excluding employees hired after but not including the date selected
Deprecation of TLS 1.0 and a shift to TLS 1.2
Who does this affect?
Reflektive will only support web connections using Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.2, beginning on May 15th, 2019. Any integration which is connecting to Reflektive using TLS v1.0 or v1.1 will no longer function as of May 1st, so please ensure that any integration under your control is using TLS version 1.2.
Background
Network security architecture relies on the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol for ensuring user interaction with Reflektive over the internet occurs securely without transmissions being vulnerable to outside entities. TLS encrypts a channel between two endpoints (for example, between a web browser and web server) to provide privacy and reliability of data transmitted over the communications channel. The primary benefit of TLS is the protection of web application data from unauthorized disclosure and modification when it is transmitted between clients (web browsers) and the web application server, and between the web application server and back end or other non-browser based enterprise components.
Checking for TLS 1.2 Compatibility
There are a number of web resources available to the public for checking your client and server compatibility with TLS 1.2. The Qualys SSL Labs site provides such tools:
Note: If you are unable to reach the SSL Labs sites listed above, check with your IT team to verify that the www.ssllabs.com domain is appropriately whitelisted in your environment.
