To capture employee sentiment, Reflektive grants HR Administrators the ability to create, launch, and maintain their own polls. Our Polls tool is meant to be used in a lightweight manner, meaning if you have more complex polling needs, it may be best to pursue a creative approach by contacting your Customer Success Manager or using an engagement survey product.
Administrative Privileges
If you are granted administrative privileges to the Polls tool, then you'll see the Polls tab appear on the top-right menu. After clicking "Polls," you'll see Dashboard and Manage Polls on the left-hand menu.
If you do not see the Polls tab, please contact your Customer Success Manager to get this enabled for you.
Creating A Poll
Once you've given some thought to what you'd like to poll your employees, there are three question types you can select during creation: Emoticons, Multiple Choice, and eNPS. They each have their uses:
-
Emoticons Poll
Select the options that you want, then click Submit Poll.
When the poll is live, the Emoticons question type will show a rating scale with 5 emoticons to your employees. This rating scale is fixed.
-
Multiple Choice Poll
The Multiple Choice question allows you to customize any number of answer choices with text. Click on Add Answer Choice to add as many answer choices as you'd like, but try not to go overboard, as it would defeat the purpose of a lightweight poll. For reporting purposes, it's important to keep your poll answers and scores consistent (eg: Strongly Disagree should always have a score of 1 across the board, instead of 5). Select the options that you want, then click Submit Poll.
This is what the poll looks like for your employees once it is live.
-
eNPS Poll
Employee Net Promoter Score (abbreviated as eNPS) is a way to measure employee loyalty and engagement by asking how likely your employees are to recommend their workplace. Specifically, the question will appear as follows:
"How likely are you to recommend [Company Name] as a place to work?"
When creating an eNPS poll, be sure to enter your company name in the text field. Employees will see the question in their email plugin and via direct email:
eNPS will be a score between -100 and 100, calculated as follows:
Poll Options
There are several things you can do to further configure your Poll Question.
-
Scheduling
- Poll Start date: Allows you to change the date at which the poll will start appearing to your employees
-
Recurring polls: If this box is left unchecked, your poll will only show up to employees once. If you want the poll to reappear to employees, check this box and select the frequency at which it should show up (every day, once a week, every 2 weeks, etc)
-
Follow Up Comment Prompt:
After the poll question is answered, employees will be prompted with a comment box and text of your choice to leave any additional thoughts. This is where you can customize the text that shows up with the comment box.
-
Submissions are anonymous
- For an anonymous poll: Check this box if you want employee's polls responses and comments to remain anonymous to you. When responding to a poll, employees will be able to see that their responses will remain anonymous
-
For a non-anonymous poll: Uncheck this field if you plan to run a poll where employee names are attached to their responses and comments.
-
Show result summary after submission
- Check this box to show poll results after the employee response to the poll. Your employees will be able to see response distribution as well as the number of responses.
- Uncheck this to keep poll results hidden from employees.
-
Targeting
- Show to Everyone: If you'd like your poll question to show up to all your employees. Employees will see the poll in their email plugin first and those who haven't responded will get an email usually after 24 hours.
- Target by Name, Department and Location: Search by names, departments, or locations to either include or exclude users from seeing the poll. In this case, I'm including all Sales and Product team members who are not based in San Francisco:

Polls Dashboard
The Polls Dashboard gives you a full list of existing polls, both active/ongoing and completed. Selecting a poll in this menu will pull up statistics about the poll.
Reading the Graphs
If you want to see more granular scores for each of the graphs, hover over the data point in question and a label will appear with the exact score.
Scores by Manager
This breakdown shows the score for all users who are under that user in the org chart. This includes direct reports, direct reports of direct reports, etc.
I know some departments have responded to the poll, but I don't see them on the score breakdown by department graph. Why is that?
If you're running an anonymous poll, we don't show poll results on the dashboard until we have enough responses from that department, tenure or manager's team. The data will start to display once we have enough responses to maintain the anonymity of the employee.
The Score Breakdown, Comments, Score Trend and the score stats at the top of the dashboard will always include all responses received.
With the ability to gather timely sentiment, you will be able to make more informed decisions that can help your employees.
