The Importance of Goals
Many companies stumble when it comes time to deliver and execute on vision. It isn't hard to see why - with a dynamic employee base, there are many competing priorities that need to get done. And even if you get those in order, it's equally important that the employees who are completing those priorities feel supported and that their own interests are taken into consideration. By developing forward-looking agile goals that proactively drive employee development and deliver business value, companies can suddenly find themselves in a situation where everyone can grow and reach milestones together.
Goal Responsibilities: For Employees and Managers
The ability to have productive ongoing communication between managers and employees is contingent on setting clear expectations. Additionally, setting goals plays a big role in employees feeling a true sense of satisfaction, as it’s a platform for understanding what success looks like.
Initial Configuration
All Reflektive customers begin with the standard configuration of the Goals Platform. Your provisioned account includes access to the Goals module and includes:
-
OKRs (Objective and Key Results) with Measurements
OKRs are designed specifically to facilitate creation of high-level objectives, each with measurable key results, pushing employees towards aspirational achievements.- Each key result on a goal has its own progress measurement, that can be tracked as a raw number, dollar value, or percentage
- Overall goal progress is then derived as an average of the progress percent of all key results.
-
Teams
- Create visibility
- Support cross functional collaboration
-
Goal Privacy
Upon goal creation, the default setting is set the new goal as private. Employees can choose to make goals public after creation.
-
Goal Alignment
With Goal alignment, your employees are able to align their goals to existing goals set by others within the system. That way, their focused efforts and areas of concentration can be tied to larger and broader goals, which helps entire organizations move more in unison.
-
Cascading Goals
Admins and Managers often bear the responsibility of creating, socializing, and enforcing goals. With the Cascade goals tool, Admins and Managers are given the ability to duplicate the individual goals they have created, and copy it as one of their team member's goals.
