In essence, the instructions below show you how to centrally remove old registry settings saved onto individual registries, thus saving you time from doing it manually machine by machine.
When you're on a master administrator account, run gpedit.exe or just type group policy in the search bar in Windows. You may see the following results:
If you choose the Edit group policy entry from the list the following window will be opened:
Navigate to the User Configuration node and then expand the Windows Settings folder. You may see now the Scripts (Logon/Logoff). After selecting the node you may double click the Logon entry on the right hand side to add an action.
Click the Show Files… button to add your files first.
Now you may add a new logon script by clicking the Add... button. Choose the the Registry.bat from the list of files available.
Click the Apply button and close the dialog window. Viola!
Now you just need to logoff and then logon to Windows anew to apply settings.
P.S. Files contents are listed below:
- Registry.bat
%systemroot%\regedit /s Registry.reg
- Registry.reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reflektive\settings]
"PopOutEmailsEnabled"=dword:00000000
