At Reflektive, we recognize that different organizations often have different management structures, depending on company and employee needs. Some organizations have employees who have a primary manager as well as one or more dotted-line managers who provide day-to-day management or oversee specific projects.
To support these use cases, we've included Multiple Manager support for Real-Time Feedback, Goals, and Reviews/Check-Ins. This allows managers to have more insight into direct and indirect reports. Additionally, this allows direct managers to collect the most complete feedback from these additional managers, identify coaching opportunities, and to administer feedback in the most expedient way. Employees can get feedback from all the people that matter, while managers can get visibility into the relevant team members, regardless of team structure. All manager feedback is tracked, recorded, and visible within the review or check-in report.
Here are some more details on Multiple Manager support:
- This feature needs to be activated by Reflektive. Please check with your Customer Success Manager if your organization needs this feature.
- Employees can have any number of secondary managers. Your local Reflektive administrator will be able to add additional managers.
Your local Reflektive administrator can add Secondary Managers. Visit the "Administrator" tab, and then "Employees" menu item.
- For Recognition, secondary managers are treated similarly to primary managers. A secondary manager will be able to see and filter through an employee's recognition history
- Access to the My Team page for all secondary reports
- Access to reporting
- For Feedback, employees can only see their own manager feedback (e.g. If I am Sally's primary manager and Mark is Sally's secondary manager, I cannot see Mark’s feedback for Sally)
- Access to give feedback
- Access to request feedback on behalf of secondary direct reports
- Access to reporting
- For 1:1s, secondary managers are treated similarly to primary managers. All 1:1s visibility is private to anyone outside of that conversation.
- For Goals, secondary managers are treated similarly to primary managers. A secondary manager will be able to see an employee's private goals.
- Search for private goals of reports and secondary reports
- Create/Edit/Delete secondary report goals
- Access to reporting
- Manager actions can be taken by either primary or secondary managers at any time.
- For Surveys, secondary managers don't share the same permissions like primary managers.
- The survey results are only accessible to the admin or the primary manager
- The secondary manager will be unable to view the survey results, however, the admin or the primary manager can download the results and share it with the secondary manager
- For Reviews/Check-Ins, secondary managers are treated similarly to primary managers. They can perform similar actions listed below:
- Peer reviewer list editing/approval
- Writing of Manager reviews - secondary managers will answer “manager” targeted questions
- Viewing review results and taking Complete & Release action
- Viewing all past performance history
- Receiving all relevant email notifications
Note: In Reviews, secondary managers can only view 1 level below, so they can't search the secondary direct report in the Indirect Reports search bar:
